Kiloani

1989 Caliber 38

A Reliable Blue-Water Cruiser!

She is ready to live-aboard and go cruising !

The Caliber is a performance cruiser with classic, graceful lines. Each boat was custom built to order by skilled craftsmen, not mass produced. Their owners appreciate their uncompromising craftsmanship, superior design and construction. Ondeck you’ll find control, comfort and convenience. Below decks the spacious accommodations are graciously appointed providing exceptional livability.

Intelligently designed to be beautiful, quick, comfortable and seaworthy. An excellent performer for coastal cruising, and seaworthiness for ocean crossings. This solidly constructed cruiser is a true joy to sail. The Performance Cruising Keel (trademark) with skeg hung rudder design offers speed while providing directional stability enabling her to keep a true course without constant attention at the helm. Remarkable maneuverability is another advantage of the design. Her high ballast-to-displacement ratio causes her to be stable, and safe, in rough water.

Kilolani is an excellent example of the time-proven bluewater Caliber 38. She has many current updates by a knowledgeable owner, above average maintenance, and is ready to set sail for her next extended voyage.

ACCOMODATIONS

In terms of accommodations, no boat of comparable size comes close to the Caliber 38. Her sleeping quarters are true staterooms, expansive and private. Kilolani featuresbeautiful teak and holly floors throughout, and multiple handrails for safe movement underway.

In the forward owner’s stateroom instead of a cramped V-berth, there's a generous pullman double berth to port with ample storage space and drawers below with a shelf and book rack over berth; a mirrored vanity and seat with clothes hamper under; and large cedar lined hanging locker with shelf storage. The owner’s cabin features a private, en-suite spacious owner’s head with its own separatestall shower enclosed by a plexiglass door. Together, the forward cabin and head offer luxurious livability for extended stays.

The main salon is well illuminated and richly furnished in teak. It takes full advantage of 6'5" headroom and a wide beam. The result is a "living room" that's perfect for entertaining guests. Two settees offer ample seating and one of them even converts into a double berth (for a total of 7 berths). Both settees have storage under and behind, and teak cabinets over. The twin leaf dining table folds up against the bulkhead for additional space.

The aft head is located conveniently to starboard as you descend the companionway. The aft head is accessible from the aft cabin, and the main salon making it accessible from either area without disturbing the other occupants.

Both heads are completely outfitted with pressurized hot/cold water and shower, marine heads withholding tanks, cabinets, SS sinks with storage below, and teak-framed mirrors.

The navigation station is located to port, aft of galley and  features a chart table with hinged lid, with storage underneath,  chart light, electronics cabinet,  breaker panel, and  nav seat with storage under.
